This is an average 1-minute read to get you into the "Leapers mindset."
The word of the day is “Coherence.”
Leadership is about setting an example; the most compelling leaders align their words with their actions. Coherence between what we say and do is the bedrock of trust and credibility. It's a simple principle that has guided my leadership journey.
Leaders who walk the talk set the standard for their team members and demonstrate commitment to their values and a profound sense of integrity.
Here is a story: While working in a marketing department earlier in my career, the EVP asked me to stay late to finish a presentation (time:8:00 p.m.). I said my 2-year-old son has a fever and would work from home. He said, “If he is with his father, why are you going too?”.
I know, unbelievable. When giving a speech, this same executive said, "Family is the most important thing.”—the bottom line is no coherence.
In an era where authenticity is highly valued, leaders who demonstrate consistency between their words and actions earn their team's respect and loyalty.
If not, it's time to recalibrate.
Let's continue to inspire our teams and build trust through the power of “Coherence.”
Together, we can make a difference.
